Senior Field Systems Engineer - Belfast
up to £30k Dependent on experience plus benefits
The main purpose of this role is systems design, implementation, testing, on-site deployment and customer support. Performing general day to day systems administration with a strong focus on user support. This is very much a hands on position not at consultancy level.
You will have IT*Computing*Engineering related honours degree (2;ii minimum), with at least 6 years Unix*Linux systems administration experience in a multi-platform, mixed operating system environment. In depth hands on knowledge of mobile data services hardware and software such as WAP gateway, SMSC and MMSC. Hands on experience in performance tuning and in depth knowledge of telecommunications networks. You will have experience in the on site implementation of computer based value added services infrastructure in a mobile telecommunications network environment as well as the ability to demonstrate awareness of effective team working together with strong communication and organizational skills.
Experience in RedHat Advanced Server, Varitas VCS and WAN*LAN design and deployment are desirable but not essential.
