Responsibilities:
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a growing team who are developing the area of Data Warehousing and Data Migrations. Our client has created a comprehensive toolkit, an industry leading data warehouse model, CaMIS (Customer and Management Information System) and a complete migration methodology, which reduce operational costs within an organization by transforming data into a knowledge asset.
Overall ownership of the mapping process including the design of the data transformation. Ensuring all aspects are completed to a high standard. Develop mapping rules to provide clear instructions to enable the development and testing staff to carry out their work. Guide other Business Analysts working on the project. In addition work with Project Managers, Auditors, Project Developers and the Data*Test Analysts.
? Oversee the high level design of the transformation process. Define both file and field level rules using appropriate in house bespoke applications ? Represent the company in mapping workshops, normally at the client site. The mapping team is comprised of a composite of donating client, receiving client and the company. It would also contain representatives for the business and IT departments. ? Support User Acceptance Testing initially in the forming of the test strategy and then handle issues that involve alterations to mappings. ? Support testing phase as appropriate for the project. It may be that on some (smaller) projects the business analyst will carry out the testing in full. In this case the Senior Business Analyst would be expected to co-ordinate the testing phase.
The Candidate Essential Skills*Qualifications:
? Good understanding of data structures. ? In depth knowledge of the IT development cycle. ? Strong design skills that are inventive when necessary. ? Excellent report writing ability in order to clearly document transformation rules containing Pseudo-code (Logically presented English). ? Proficient Client Facing and Facilitation skills. ? Current experience of Data Migrations and*or Data Warehousing projects. ? Comprehensive knowledge of the Insurance and Financial Services Industry. ? Knowledgeable of data audit practices.
Desirable Skills*Qualifications:
? Five to Ten years experience in Finance and*or Insurance industry ? Working knowledge of Windows NT environment ? Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools particularly Excel ? Knowledge of Unix Commands ? Experience of conceptual and logical phases of Database design

Based at High Wycombe, will have to attend client workshops and meetings off site, this will be on a regular basis particularly during the mapping phase. Travel will be within the UK.
