IS Support Technician Cambridge £22-25k (3 years minimum experience)
You will have excellent customer and communication skills, technical ability and the ability and willingness to learn.
The role is based in Cambridge, ( other UK site is London )and the successful candidate must be willing to travel both to London and internationally should the need arise.
The successful candidate will be working in a team who?s responsibility it is to support the company`s workstations, servers and network infrastructure, from fault diagnostics to repair. They should have working knowledge of PC and server support and network infrastructure support.
The successful candidate will be joining a well-regarded team so confidence in a fast-moving, dynamic environment and a strong work ethic will be expected and be able to work on their own initiative.
You will also be responsible for liaising with third party suppliers to ensure required equipment is ordered and delivered to requirements, and to setup good communication links with these supplies for future and continued growth.
Perform daily administrative tasks such as system backups, managing disk space, server and network system monitoring, configuring and maintaining users on the network etc.
Essential Qualifications: Minimum 3 years IT related experience Skills Experience in : Windows NT4 Server, 2000 Server and Workstation, 2003 Server MS Office 97*XP Lotus Notes 5 and above Some server and network support (LAN, WAN, remote dial-in etc) Server and Workstation hardware and software fault diagnostics and repair skills Desirable Qualifications: 1 year Helpdesk, 1st*2nd line support MCP Windows 2000 Server * Workstation - working towards MCSE Unix Networking (RAS, CAT 5 LAN, WAN) Internet * Intranet * WEB WINS, DHCP, DNS knowledge Internet Mail
