Job Title: Team Leader
Responsible to: Deputy Manager
Responsible for: Care Assistants
Location: The post is based, Northwood, Function: To assist the Deputy Manager (Residential Care) Main Duties:
1. Co-ordination and delivery of the day to day provision of care and support to residents 2. To take responsibility for supervision of a team of care assistants, 3. To participate in the recruitment, selection and training of care assistants (this will include undertaking internal assessment for NVQ. [where the Team Leader does not hold assessor status they will be required to attain the A1 qualification within one year of appointment]. 4. To take responsibility for ensuring care assistants work in accordance with procedures including, for example, quality assurance procedures for residential care and health and safety procedures. 5. To monitor care assistants work standards and taking responsibility for undertaking one to one supervision meetings and appraisals. 6. At all times to work to promote effective team working,. 7. As required by the Deputy Manager to liaise with GPs (or other health professionals) on matters concerning residents health care needs. 8. rotas and work schedules. 9. To be responsible for maintaining accurate records 10. To assist in stock ordering, purchase and control. 11. As Team Leader to work at all times to promote good practice 12. According to rota and in absence of the Deputy Manager (Residential Care) to be responsible for the smooth running of residential care services. 13. To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required by the Deputy Manager (Residential Care) or Centre Manager taking account of the nature and scope of this position.
Special Requirements The post will involve evening and week-end duties according to rota. The post-holder must be physically fit to undertake moving and handling tasks (using aids to assist as appropriate). The post requires an enhanced level disclosure and POVA check via the Criminal Records Bureau.
