This Children`s Unit is looking to recruit a qualified social worker to join their team. All applicants must have a minimum of 6 months access and assessment experience in the UK, and be qualified to at least DipSW (or equivalent), be GSCC registered and hold a CRB dated within the last 12 months. Responsibilities: To assess the needs and wishes of clients and where appropriate, to incorporate these assessments into individual care plans. To provide social work services in accordance with departmental policies with particular reference to those from discriminated against groups: black people and those from other minority ethnic groups, women, older people, people with disabilities, lesbians and gay men. To undertake assessments of the needs of children and their families taking into account their views, and ensure the establishment of individual care plans with particular reference to discriminated against groups. To undertake children in need assessments in accordance with Department of Health Guidance. To undertake the investigation of child protection referrals and to provide assessments that facilitates decision-making by appropriate line managers (dependant on the level of expertise and training). To participate in multi-disciplinary assessments and to undertake care manager and key worker*service provider functions where appropriate. This role would suit a Social Work Graduate, or someone looking to move away from managing heavy caseloads.
